锘?00 challenge with 'Book em Danno' What dismissive, "cutesy" remarks! A "hoot"? I am a UM grad and a 36year UM employee. in the morning and saw the marching band already out practicing, I would be a wealthy UM employee. (Almost impossible in the state of MD). That band works hard on any day and has been honored for a lot of appearances and I am sure they worked even harder for this. They won out over 32 other college bands nationwide. They hoped to win so as to buy new band uniforms. It must have been a dry news day for you to look for cheap gratification by disparaging their accomplishment. This is a group of good kids that work harder than most on campus. While most are enjoying their last week of summer vacation, members of the band arrive early and practice for nearly 12 hours a day to be prepared for the start of football season. As you can see by the performance above, it is time well spent. Thank you to the staff and the students for working so hard and bringing positive attention to the school.
