10. Daniel Lee changed history for Maggie. The director of Three Kingdoms changed the role of Cao Cao's grandson into a granddaughter just for Maggie.
Nikita star Maggie Q has been in countless Chinese films, but she's only recently made her mark on American audiences. While you've probably heard by now that she trained with Jackie Chan and moved to Hong Kong when she was 18, there's a lot more to this modelturnedaction star.
5. Sword fighting, yes, nunchucks, no. We were pretty shocked to hear a weapon exists that Maggie hasn't been trained to handle she admits she has never been taught how to wield nunchucks. Too bad; we'd have loved to see Nikita bust them out on Rectangle Glasses.
6. Maggie coproduced a documentary called Earthlings about animal cruelty. Warning: The film, narrated by Joaquin Phoenix and scored by Moby, has been nicknamed "the vegan maker" due to its graphic images. Maggie is vocal about animal rights, and the trailer alone makes it pretty easy to understand why.
7. Doggy daycare. Maggie has rescued seven (!) dogs from animal shelters, including one she brought home from Hong Kong. When she meets someone for the first time, Maggie will tell them she has seven "kids" and see how far she can take the joke.
8. Maggie speaks Hawaiian. Born and raised in Oahu, Maggie learned Hawaiian in school. She never got the hang of surfing, though.
9. Maggie's favorite word. The word Maggie says she uses the most is "literally." After combing through a couple of her interviews, we can attest that this is literally the case. At least she uses it correctly.
4. Yoga is Maggie's main form of exercise. Maggie keeps her bod action movie ready with the serenest of strength training. Pretty surprising, considering we watch her beat up people 24/7 as Nikita.
1. Maggie wanted to be a vet. Maggie is an animalloving vegetarian, and before ditching college for modeling, she considered attending veterinary school. Although she still harbors dreams of healing pups, Maggie feels she can help save many more critters with her generous contributions to animal shelters.
2. Her first movie was horrorible. Titled Model From Hell, Maggie's first foray into acting was a lessthanbigbudget flick in which she played a model who sprouts a murderous extra head when she becomes angry. Seriously. On his talk show, George Lopez dug up a few hilarious clips from the film, which mortified Maggie.
