Hot Pursuit returns the Need for Speed series to its copsandracers roots and does so with blazingly fast races, striking visuals and spectacular crashes. Players are able to take on missions as cops or racers and work their way through the rankings to be the ultimate enforcer and mostwanted speed demon respectively. Weapons such as spike strips and EMP bombs spice up the action. Out now.
Kinect Joy Ride keeps its controls simple. Players steer with an invisible wheel, boost by thrusting their hands forward and powerslide by swinging their hips out on corners. The presentation is upbeat and cartoony, with a good variety of challenges from traditional races to stunt courses focused on big air and wild tricks. As players progress through challenges they earn fans, and there's plenty of courses, modes and vehicles.
KINECT JOY RIDE (G)
Forget catching them all, in the Ranger games players recruit Pokemon to help them, then release them into the wild. These titles are all about using the Styler, a device that allows players to befriend Pokemon by drawing circles around them. This soon becomes tedious, but with more of a focus on story than most Pokemon titles, there's enough to keep Pokediehards going. Out tomorrow.
NEED FOR SPEED: HOT PURSUIT (G)
Perhaps the most refreshing component of Brotherhood is its multiplayer mode. In this game of cat and mouse, players hunt a target while simultaneously being hunted, and those who are patient and stealthy are rewarded.
This title makes great use of Kinect. It tracks and displays a player's body, offering feedback on movements and measuring calories burned. The content spans quick, fun minigames through to daily personal training sessions. Integrating fitness professionals such as Michelle Bridges is a highlight, and the game offers great circuits. It's a solid entry in the fitness genre and you'll raise a sweat. Out now.
To conquer the Borgia, Ezio will liberate the 12 districts of Rome, travel further afield to destroy war machines and assassinate anyone who stands in his way. Cooler still, he'll also recruit apprentice assassins who can be called upon to eliminate targets.

In this game, you never want your target to see you coming.
Climbing signature landmarks such as the Colosseum or the Parthenon is a thrill. There's a huge amount to do, too, with collectables and sidemissions galore, though fans of Assassin's Creed II may find the gameplay uncomfortably familiar at times.
Controlling Ezio is great fun. Players are able to execute incredibly acrobatic moves, whether running across the city's rooftops or leaping on an enemy from on high for a brutal kill. New to the series is the ability to ride horses anywhere in the city and to leap from the back of a horse into an assassination. Combat is as visceral as ever, while Ezio's crossbow is handy for eliminating distant threats. Rome is an appealing playground for the action. Massive and sprawling, it has dense urban areas, imposing citadels and grassy ruins.
