Hadji Murad had been a week at the fortification living in the house of Ivan Matveevich. Although Marya Dmitrievna had quarreled with the shaggy-haired Khanefi (Hadji Murad had with him only two men: Khanefi and Eldar) and had many times ejected him from her kitchen 鈥?which is he nearly cut her tonsils 鈥?she evidently felt a particular respect and sympathetic concern for Hadji Murad. But Aminet was angry with Shamil because he previously given some man made fibre to Zaidet and not to her. she saw him come out and go to look for her in her room and she by choice did not come back to her room. she endured a long time in Zaidet鈥檚 entry, joking softly as she viewed the white figure go in and out of her room. It was nearly time for the night time prayers when Shamil, after waiting in vain, went back to their own groups.
