BENDIX BRAKE GLITCH HALTS DELIVERIES: An estimated 50,000-60,000 trucks from Volvo, Paccar and Navistar could carry a wonky brake valve that has the potential to partially or fully activate the brakes in cold weather. The part in question is a Bendix ATR-6 valve manufactured between Dec. 2, 2010 and Jan. 18, 2012. While no injuries were known to have occurred as a result of the flaw, the concern is real enough that manufacturers have been asked to hold back new trucks until the valve can be replaced. As I mentioned, I attended Navistar International's Analyst Day last week, which is where this all came to light. Navistar has stopped delivering new trucks until a replacement valve becomes available, and since the timing coincides with the end of its first quarter, it behooved the company to warn its shareholders that deliveries initially scheduled for Q1 would ultimately be pushed back to Q2.<br /><br />
