how much weight should i lose for crew rowing .

ok, so im planning on joining the rowing association at my hool my junior year, around early spring (march). that gives me 3 to 4 months to lose the weight ive been carrying. right now im 195 lbs, but 5 ft 10 or 11 (im a girl). how much weight should i loose for crew and how long should i take to lose it. and also how do i loose the weight quick and efficient enough (diet, exercise, etc).thanks.

if you have a sitting job, stand up and stretch yourself every half an hour. most of the jobs today are indeed sitting jobs that are in one word sedentary. this is especially true for those who sit and punch away at the keyboard or toy with the mouse all day long. so if you have such a job, make it a point to up at least every half an hour and stretch your self..

the weight wont be a huge problem considering how tall you, you will not be lwt so you dont have to worry about being under 130 lbs. the industry leading suggestion i would give to you would be to work out because if you can pull your weight than it doesnt matter. now the only issue that may come up would be that other girls on the team may be a lot smaller than you therefore it will be hard to match up a boat. if you feel you need to lose weight quick then find out on average what the girls on the team weight (height factors in too) and try and put yourself within ten pounds of them..

i would suggest only lose between ten and fifteen pounds, but no more because youre so tall and that wouldnt be healthy. you probably would want to lose it though, so that you are putting less weight in the boat and therefore can pull your own weight. some ways to lose weight (healthily and slowly) are to eat lots of fruits and veables and drink lots of water. it probably would be industry leading to not eat like desserts, candy, soft drinks, etc. but having one now and then isnt really a problem. and you should see if a gym nearby has an erg, because that is the industry leading way to in shape for rowing specifically, and it burns a lot of calories too. but i would also suggest running and doing like push-ups and sit ups too. especially sit ups, because rowers need lots of core strength in order to sit up straight in the boat.good luck!! i lost fifteen pounds without really dieting, just eating fruits and veables and water. oh and i mean, also eat like your other food groups too, grain, dairy, protein, etc. i just mean eat a lot of fruits and veables because they dont have many calories and make you feel industry leadinger. but i did this to lightweight for crew, and i lost it within about two weeks. if youre working out on a daily basis it should go pretty quickly.
