lost data on external firewire drive, how can i recover data.. apparently my firewire drive dionnected and now it prompts me to reformat. data recovery service wants a minimum of $250. a friend says that buying a new disk enclosure may solve the issue. what to do. if your drive has a removeable di drive (ie its an enclosure with a removeable sata or pata di inside), then it is possible that buying a new enclosure may help. otherwise, there may be a software issue (although unlikely if it prompts you to reformat the di) - try reinstalling the driver.the only other alternative is to use a data recovery service, but shop around - they arent all the same price (that is pretty high). also , try haggling - people will try to rip you off because they know that you need the data - it costs these services virtually nothing, they will charge such a high price because they know that you are desperate and have no alternative.. i am guessing you do not have a back-up. you will have to buy software to do it. try diskdoctors. that will you started. google data recovery software. there are a lot of data recovery software present in the market and all of them costs a lot. you may go with the source technology as there are a lot of free software that can recover the data from a hard drive. use the link below to check some of the data recovery software tools that are free for everyone.sourceforgesearchtype_of_s…hope you can find one of the tool that would to the trick.cheers!

i accidentally deleted the most important file in my life!. its deleted from the recycle bin.it was in my documents and then while i was uninstalling a file that was within it, it became deleted too.what do i do to recover it i dont want a software that costs money.im panicking.my lifes work was on there!btw its been 18 hours after i deleted it.. dont panic.just download tune up utilities software from any torrent site.then it - select restore deleted files - select drive from where the file has been deleted.click restore.if you are having any difficulty, then contact me at sawant.rahul333yahoo.in. hmm well to be honest its been 18 hours and it may be long gone or too corrupt to read now once windows paging file and virtual memory allocates that free space on the hard drive it can be overwritten at any given moment in time now that its deemed free - and unfortunately again yes you do want a paid version software or you are probably never going to that back.. may not even if you do pay at this point but if so can be worth a try - you would probably want the latest version of lsoft active undelete - has always worked well for me, however the anning process takes awhile and use is semi complicated if you are not familiar with how to use it.. dont add any files to your hdd. if your lucky it will still be on the hdd disk. if you have a solid state your stuffed. when a computer wrights to a hdd it burns binary code into the disk (001001 010010 0100111) when you delete it you tell the disk to regard it as a piece of blank space when the file is still there. do not install the file recovery software onto the drive do not put anything on it! install the file recovery software below onto a flash drive or external drive.follow the softwares instructions.filehippodownload_recuva…. download.cnetfile-avenger-… this is the best and it is free.. you can try to use nice to recover data for mac to recover deleted files.it can recover 10mb files for free.search for it.. recuva filehippodownload_recuva…set it to deep an for best results... oh bugger! i dont know what you can dobut i feel for you. (ive done this)
