After graduating college in 1969 O'Connor was hired on at Hastings House Publishers in 1971 and features since dealt with top publishers within the market.
From 1999 present Jane O'Connor spent some time working for publishing giant Penguin USA Books for Young Readers as editor as a whole. He has recently penned her first adultfiction novel, which he has been quoted as saying "was infinitely harder" than writing children's books. Born in 1947, Jane O'Connor lived regarding the Upper West side of Manhattan and graduated from Smith College in Massachusetts in 1969 having Bachelor's Degree in English Literature. She began her career at the publishing industry in 1971 at Hastings House publishers before moving to Scholastic Inc. where she became an editor. It had been in those times which she penned her first book, "Yours Till Niagara Falls, Abby" in 1979. Her debut novel began to win the Nebraska Golden Sower award in 1982 and would have been critical success. Writing then had been a second occupation as she continued to the office as editor in chief with little thought House from 1983 to 1989, Grosset Dunlop throughout 1989, before becoming president within the mass marketing division of Books for Young Readers from 1989 to 1999.
In 1983 her children's book "Just Good Friends" debuted with good success, as did "The Dandee Diamond Mystery", and she followed to write an extrodinary offering of titles including "Lulu plus the Witch Baby" coupled with "Lulu Takes it to Witch School". Occasionally bringing into play her husband Jim O'Conner and her son Robert O'Conner, she also resulted in many children's series including "All Aboard Reading", "Eek, Stories to cause you to Shriek", plus the "Step Into Reading" series. She also become an art form advocate, teaching younger children reasons to art within a "Smart About Art" series. Back in 1984 O'Conner released two equally impressive books, "The Amazing Bubble Gum Caper", and "The Magic Top Mystery".
