Hot on the heels of Nvidia's latest ForceWare release, AMD has posted a new set of Catalyst drivers for its Radeon graphics cards. The Catalyst 9.2 software brings some performance improvements, much like the new Nvidia drivers, albeit not in all of the same games. Here are the speedups you can look forward to, in AMD's words:
Crysis DX10 performance gains of up to 20%
Naturally, AMD has also included a round of bug fixes. The company talks of resolutions related to the Catalyst Control Center, Call of Duty 4, systems with more than 8GB of RAM, Radeon HD 4800series CrossFire stability, and OpenGL 3.0.
You can grab the Catalyst 9.2 drivers for Windows XP and Vista, in 32bit and 64bit flavors, from the AMD Game website, as usual. Detailed release notes in PDF format are linked in the driver download pages.
