锘?04CA laptop tempts me
For $480 Canadian plus 7% sales tax, I can get a Compaq CQ60404CA laptop which has an AMD Athlon X2 QL64 CPU at 2.1GHz, 3GB of system RAM, a 250GB 5400RPM hard drive, GeForce 8200M graphics, and a 15.6" screen. It is running Vista Home Premium 32bit with SP1, but the system does qualify for a Windows 7 upgrade disc.
I appreciate the response, again I should point out that it does qualify for a Windows 7 upgrade disc, but I am hopeful that there would be a "clean" install option for such a disc. But I guess for $480, I'm not too hung up on things. If we were talking about a $1000 laptop, then I would certainly wait until after October.
I know I said I would wait for Windows 7 to come out before buying a new laptop, but currently I am running a Compaq Presario V2630CA which is now over three years old, and I saw something this week that looks very good for the price. I don't game a lot on the PC anymore, but do have some classics that I like to revisit such as Microsoft Pinball Arcade, SoF 2, Diablo series, Need For Speed series, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, etc. Probably the most demanding games I might install are C 3, Rainbow Six Vegas, or Battle For Middle Earth 2.
